9 students of JUST have been expelled for life
As the allegation of involvement in kidnapping of job aspirants and physical and mental abuse of a resident student overnight has been proven beyond doubt, decision has been taken to expel 9 students from different departments of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) for life from the university. A total of 13 students, including 9 have been expelled for life. And the remaining four do not have student status; Decisions have been taken to take action against them under the current laws of the country.
This decision was taken in the 100th (special) meeting of the highest policy-making forum of the university, the Board of Regents, at the conference room of the administrative building of JUST on Tuesday afternoon. Many members of the Board of Regents attended the meeting virtually and in person. After the Inquiry Committee report, it is presented to the Disciplinary Committee of the University as per rules. Later, after the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee was presented to the Board of Regents, this decision was taken considering the importance of the incident. At the beginning of the meeting, JUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain spoke. In his speech, he said on December 7, 2023 AD. The Board of Regents informed the members of the board of regents of the incidents arising during the selection board for the appointment of elevator operators on 4th June 2024 AD. On the date, JUST informed Shahrin Rahman, a student of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) department, about the physical and mental torture during the night.

Since it was proved beyond doubt in the case of kidnapping of lift operator job candidates on 7th December 2023 and violation of the already issued restrictions on them, Md. Belal Hossain, a student of Finance and Banking Department of JUST, GM Raisul Haque Rana, a student of Pharmacy Department, Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) department students Nripendra Nath Roy, Mushfiqur Rahman, Fahim Faisal Labib and Md. Abu Bakkar were decided to expel from the university for life as per the Rules of Discipline for Students of JUST. However, Fahim Faisal Labib is currently not a student. Among the mentioned, those who do not have student status are decided to take action as per the prevailing laws of the country. At the same time, it was decided to restrict their entry inside the university and residential hall.
In the meeting of the board of regents, it has been proven that, on the night of 4th June 2024, Shahrin Rahman, a student of Physical Education and Sports Science Department, have been physically and mentally abused in room 306 of Shaheed Masiur Rahman Hall of the University. For their involvement in the case, Md. Bipul Sekh, Ichhad Hossain, Md. Ashikuzzaman (Lemon) and Md. Aminul Islam of Physical Education and Sports Science Department; Md. Belal Hossain of Finance and Banking Department and Md. Raihan Rahman Rabbi of Department of Physics were decided to be expelled for life according to the Rules of Discipline for Students. However, Sohail Rana, Ichhad Hossain and Ashikuzzaman (Lemon) are currently not students. Among the mentioned, those who do not have student status are decided to take action as per the prevailing laws of the country. At the same time, it was decided to restrict their entry inside the university and residential hall.
